Looking For Homeschool Groups In The Geraldton Area?

Hi everyone. I'm Kate! I'm new here, have recently moved from VIC to WA and am looking for like minded support groups in Geraldton. I have 3 kids (12, 4, 2) and I am researching as much as I can on alternative / natural / home & unschooling.

My DS12 is currently in public school and I want to make sure I can be the best teacher, before I go and tear him out of school.

Hopefully I can get help and advice from people here.

Look forward to hearing from you!

In Mt Pleasant

Hello We have two boys, currently enrolled in school in years 1 and 4 (ages five and nine). I'm very seriously considering homeschooling our nine year old- possibly our five year old, too- from term 4 of this year. I wanted to put feelers out to anyone in our area- I'd love to be able to chat with someone who is currently homeschooling! (Our five year old was previously in Steiner school; and it's a curriculum that interests me... As does natural learning.) Zoe

Unschooling in Rockingham/Kwinana region

We are removing our 5 year old from traditional schooling at the end of term 1, 2015. We will be Un-Schooling (aka Free-Schooling) them from then onwards and will be endeavouring to meet the home school curriculum via this method. We are looking to meet other families interested in skill-sharing and group activities such as sports/games, craft projects, large scale projects (eg; a community garden), group excursions (observatory, zoo, art galleries, etc), camps/camping and general free play time with other children.

Mount Pleasant

Hello, I am homeschooling my 7 year old daughter. We are in Mount Pleasant and would be interested in any get togethers around our area. It would be nice to make some friends for the odd play! Amanda

Lynley's Reading School

Good evening everyone, I am new to this forum and I wanted to let you all know about Lynley's Reading School. Founder is Lynley Bromwell who has home schooled her children and children of friends for many years, below is her story:

I have been home schooling my own children and children of family and friends for more than 15 years. I developed the Reading Courses because I was not able to find a step by step resource to teach my children to read and spell.

Do you not have a television, a microwave and eat organic foods...but still sneak your iPhone into bed once your child's asleep.

Anyone interested in a Steiner/Waldorf homeschool co op?

Hi Everyone, I have 2 little boys, aged 2 & 4, and we are currently enrolled at a Steiner School but are seriously considering a move to Waldorf Homeschool, probably following Oak Meadow curriculum with a lot of creative license thrown in. If there is anyone interested in joining us on the journey, we could use friends. There will be at least a Kindy 5 day (or 2) and possibly a play group as well. Play based learning, strong emphasis on rhythm and handwork (crafts) as well as circle time and morning tea (fresh baked bread!) We live in Mt Hawthorn next to a lovely playground.
